Pafos Zoo

Pafos Zoo (formerly known as "Pafos Bird Park") is a wildlife attraction to the North of Paphos.

The zoo is home to a wide variety of animals, including a large number of birds. Activities offered include parrot and owl shows, as well as children's farm (where children can get close to rabbits, guinea pigs, and other animals), face painting and more.

Personal Experiences of Pafos Zoo

While on vacation in Cyprus, I visited Pafos Zoo in 2010 (when it was still called "Pafos Bird Park") with family members. Finding our way there was straightforward, and it was easy to park.

We had an excellent time, and had enjoyed walking around the zoo, seeing many different wild animals and birds.

The zoo was clean and well maintained. It was easy to find our way around as the zoo was well sign-posted. The café and lavatory facilities were clean.

Flamingos at Pafos Zoo:

My young nephew greatly especially the bird show, which was held inside an indoor auditorium. I would have to say that this was the highlight of our visit to Pafos Zoo.

The bird show included a number of parrots doing tricks, such as counting, riding miniature bicycles, etc., as well as owls flying around (and over our heads), and more. I have to say the bird show was truly excellent, and was clearly loved by all the children in the audience.

One other particularly noteable part of the park was a reptile house,. I am not a great fan of reptiles myself, and found it rather too hot (in temperature) for my personal comfort. However myother family members greatly enjoyed the reptile house, and saw a wide variety of snakes and other reptiles.

In summary, I would say that the park was excellent, and we enjoyed our day.

I would certainly recommend a visit to Pafos Zoo to others, particularly families with young children. Be aware that it is a large park, and does involve quite a bit of walking to see it all (if taking young children, be sure to bring a pushchair!) - but it is definitely worth a visit.
